What is the Bayer retail pharmacy Medicare/Medicaid program?

This is a special program that allows the retail pharmacy to buy specially-labeled products through a Bayer authorized drug wholesaler. These specially-labeled products can be sold only to Medicare Part B and/or state Medicaid beneficiaries where the state Medicaid programs cover blood glucose test strips as a Durable Medical Equipment benefit.

What is required of the retail pharmacy? 

The retail pharmacy must:

• Agree to the terms and conditions of the Bayer Retail Medicare/Medicaid Agreement.
• Submit Medicare Part B claims to Medicare through a Bayer contracted Medicare Part B Claim Submission Service (such as eRx [Allwin Data], Freedom Data or OmniSYS).*
• Buy Bayer Medicare/Medicaid labeled products from your Drug Wholesaler for resale only to eligible Medicare Part B/Medicaid beneficiaries.
  
  
  * List of Bayer contracted Medicare Part B Claim Submission Services available upon request from Bayer. If the Medicare Part B Claim Submission Service that you use is not contracted with Bayer, you will need to supply Bayer directly with electronic reports.
